About Us

AI Boyfriends is a catalogue of written AI companion characters and a set of guides to the products in that category. It is a small operation, and this page says plainly what it is, how it is paid for, and what it refuses to do.

How this is paid for

We do not run the conversation service ourselves. When you go past reading — starting a longer chat, opening the character creator, following a pricing link — you are handed to a partner service, and we are paid a commission if you subscribe there.

That is the entire business model. There is no advertising, no sponsored placement in the catalogue, and nothing on this domain that takes a payment. We would rather put this in the third paragraph of the site than in the tenth clause of the terms, because a disclosure you have to hunt for is not a disclosure.

What we will not do

These are constraints on the code, not aspirations. Several of them fail the build if broken.

No invented ratings

You will not find a star rating, a score out of ten or a review count anywhere on this site. We have no users rating anything, so any number would be fabricated, and fabricated review markup is the kind of thing search engines act against at the level of an entire domain.

No fake presence

No character is ever labelled online, nobody is shown as typing, and no page claims that a given number of people are chatting right now. What we do show is relative and true: where something ranks inside a tag, whether it is trending, and the month it was added.

Account forms only where needed

Password fields appear only on separate account pages for registration, login and recovery. Reading the catalogue needs no account. Signed-in actions continue directly, and no payment form appears anywhere on this site.

No redirects you did not ask for

Nothing here sends you elsewhere on a timer, on a scroll or on page load. You leave this site when you deliberately do something that takes you off it, and never as a side effect of reading.

How the writing works

Characters are written rather than generated on demand, and each one is published with a full biography you can read before you talk to them. Portraits are generated; no real person is depicted anywhere on this site, and everyone published here is stated to be eighteen or over, checked automatically at build time.

The comparison pages follow one rule: record what a product does, never how good it is. Rows we have not checked against a product’s own public pages say so instead of guessing, and prices are left out entirely because they change faster than any page can track. The journal explains mechanisms — memory, context windows, free-tier ceilings — rather than handing out verdicts.

Getting in touch

One address, no social accounts, no community server. Write to hello@aiboyfriends.org and a person will answer.
