Draft — not yet in force

Terms of Service

The agreement between this site and the person using it: what the service is, what it is not, and the limits on both sides.

This document is not in force yet

What follows is the agreed structure of this document, not the document itself. The binding wording is being drafted and reviewed by a qualified lawyer, and it replaces this outline before the site opens to the public. Nothing on this page creates or limits any obligation.

We publish the outline rather than a placeholder because you are entitled to know what a policy will cover before you can read it, and because a page of convincing-looking text that no lawyer has seen is worse than an empty one: there would be no way to tell the two apart.

What this document covers

Each heading below becomes a numbered section of the final text.

  1. 01Who may use the service

Eligibility, the minimum age of eighteen, and the consequences of misrepresenting age. Cross-references the underage policy.

  2. 02What the service provides

A plain description of what is offered here and what is provided by third parties reached through this site. This section has to be unusually precise, because the distinction is the whole business model.

  3. 03Accounts and access

How access works, what identifiers are collected, and the fact that passwords are entered only on account pages and payment instruments are never collected here.

  4. 04Acceptable use

Summary of prohibited conduct with a pointer to the full acceptable use policy rather than a second, divergent list.

  5. 05Content and intellectual property

Ownership of site content, ownership of anything a user submits, licence grants in both directions, and the status of AI-generated material.

  6. 06Third-party services

Relationship with partner services, what this site is and is not responsible for once a person leaves it, and disclosure of commercial relationships.

  7. 07Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Standard clauses, drafted to be enforceable in the United States and reviewed against applicable consumer protection law.

  8. 08Termination

Grounds for ending access, notice, and what survives termination.

  9. 09Governing law and disputes

Choice of law, venue, and the dispute resolution mechanism — including whether arbitration and class action waiver clauses are used at all.

  10. 10Changes to these terms

How changes are published, how notice is given, and the effective date convention.

How this block is being prepared

Written for this site specifically

These are not adapted from a template pack. Several of the clauses only make sense here: no payment is ever taken on this domain, passwords are entered only on account pages, and all visual material is generated rather than photographed. Each of those facts changes the document that describes it, and a generic template would state the opposite.

Reviewed before, not after, launch

The thirteen documents are marked as launch blockers in the project’s own route map, which means the site is not considered releasable while any of them is still an outline. The review covers United States federal requirements and state privacy law, and the set is written independently of the sibling site rather than copied across.

The rest of the legal block

Twelve more documents, all at the same stage.
